Strand scores top five at Red River Valley Speedway

EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (August 26, 2021) – Following a win at River Cities one week prior, Dustin Strand scored another top five in NLRA Late Model series action in the No. 71 Keewatin Truck Service / Generations Salon Millenium SRT last Saturday night at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo.

Strand was cruising to a heat race win on Saturday night at Red River Valley until a driveshaft failure on the final corner forced him to coast to the checkers. The fourth place finish buried Strand deep in the field for the 25 lap main event, as he was slated to roll off 15th.

It took Strand just four laps to climb into the top ten, and remained in and around the top ten through the midway point.

Strand continued to charge through the field with ten laps remaining. As the final twenty laps went caution free, Strand’s charge was unaided by slow downs for cautions.

Strand was running sixth with five laps left, but passed Cole Schill and Ben Wolden before the checkered flag, finishing in the fourth position. Strand won the series’ hard charger award for the 11 cars he passed during the race.

Strand was also in action on Wednesday night at River Cities Speedway, where he kicked off his night with a heat win. Strand started the race in the third position, and was running solidly inside the top five in the first half of the 25 lapper.

Strand was in a three car battle for the second spot at the midway point, when contact ended his night early.

Strand will return to River Cities on tonight for another night of weekly Late Model competition.
