Strand scores third consecutive win at River Cities Speedway

EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (August 17, 2022) – Dustin Strand is on a roll right now. No matter the car or track, Strand is a threat to win every night. That was the case again on Friday night at River Cities Speedway as the driver of the Millenium SRT No. 71 Late Model collected his third consecutive win.

That stretch includes a pair of Late Model victories - one at River Cities Speedway and one at Greenbush Race Park - and one Modified win at Greenbush. 

Strand took advantage of an early-race caution during Friday night's feature to take the lead on lap four. Strand executed a power move on the low side of the speedway to get by Brandon Fuller for the race lead. 

From there, Strand had his hands full with fellow Team Millenium pilots Brody Troftgruben and Jason Strand. 

Strand bobbled on the cushion on lap 13 which was all Jason Strand needed to take the point down the backstretch. Jason came around to lead the lap, but Dustin found his groove on the cushion again and powered around to retake the lead. 

Dustin was flawless in lapped traffic in the closing laps as he cruised to the win - his sixth of the season overall. 

“I wanted to get to the top right away, but the bottom was pretty good at the beginning,” said an excited Strand in victory lane. “Brandon (Fuller) was doing pretty good there early on. He just left me half of a lane on the bottom for me to sneak by."

After a string of bad luck, Strand has got the ship righted for some big NLRA shows upcoming and the annual John Seitz Memorial in September. 

“The car has been working awesome as long as the driver can hang on to the steering wheel. We really couldn’t do it without all of the great people that help us out,” said Strand. 

This weekend, Strand will be back at River Cities Speedway on Friday night before the $5,000-to-win Golden Hammer Classic at Devils Lake Speedway on Saturday.
