STRAND SCORES RUNNER-UP IN FIRST AREA RACE OF SEASON

​East Grand Forks, Minn. (May 10, 2023) – Following a couple USMTS appearances in Iowa last month, Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating / Walhalla Building Center Mullens by Millenium Modified, kicked off the local schedule last Friday night at I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN.

Strand, who is campaigning a Mullens Racing Chassis Modified by Millenium this season, started his night with a heat race victory by over a second and a half.

Lining up on the outside of the front row for the 20 lap main event, Strand remained a close second to Lee Grosz through the first half of the race.

With five laps remaining, Strand and Grosz battled door-to-door, with Strand running the bottom of the three-eighths mile oval.

Strand led lap 15, but Grosz was able to regain the lead in lapped traffic to pick up the win.

This week, Strand will break out the Late Model for the first time this season during Friday's season opener at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND.

A 43-time feature winner in the class at the speedway, Strand is two wins away from his 100th at the track in his career, which includes wins in Street Stocks, Super Stocks, Midwest Mods, and Modifieds

​The team will head west on Saturday night, to Devils Lake Speedway near Doyon, ND for the Northern Late Model Racing Association season opener. Strand has four previous series wins at the third-mile oval.
