Strand scores pair of top tens in NLRA competition

​EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (June 5, 2023) - Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71 Bemidji Welders Supply / Naastad Acres Millenium SRT, brought home a pair of top ten finishes with the Northern Late Model Racing Association last weekend at River Cities an I-94 emr Speedways.

On Friday night, Strand started and finished in the third position in his heat race, which put him on the outside of row five for the 25 lap main event.

​Strand wasted no time making his way forward, making three passes in the opening lap, moving up to seventh. While running in eighth during a caution that came out just past the midway point, Strand made another three-pass run at the drop of the green, as he made his way into the top five. Despite losing a couple spots in the waning laps, Strand ended up with a seventh place finish.

On Saturday night, Strand followed the rest of the NLRA down the road to I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN for another night of double duty, as he and the crew brought the No. 71 Millenium by Mullens along to run at the Dick Johanneck Memorial King of the Dirt.

Strand won both heat races, and was scheduled to start eighth in the Late Model and seventh in the Modified.

Strand again moved forward at the start of the Late Model feature, running sixth on lap two, and seventh until a caution on lap 13 of the 30 lap special. Strand lost two spots on the ensuing restart, and spent the remainder of the race battling in the second half of the top ten, finishing ninth.

Strand then hopped into the Modified and again ran sixth early, but ended up heading pit side early on lap 12.

This week, Strand returns to River Cities with just the Late Model as he will be looking to score career win number 100 at the Speedway.
