EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (May 25, 2023) - Coming off a pair of runner-up performances in consecutive weeks, Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71 Bemidji Welders Supply / Novacek Honey Farms Mullens by Millenium, was in contention for his first victory of the season, but ended the night with a DNF. Strand and crew brought their Mullens by Millenium Modified back out after a runner-up finish two weeks prior at I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN for the season opener at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND.
Starting third in his heat race, and finishing second, Strand went on to roll off on the outside of the front row in the 20 lap main event. Strand took the lead after a great door-to-door battle with Tyler Peterson throughout the first half of the race. Approaching lapped traffic, Strand dipped the right rear tire off the edge of the banking, causing him to slide off the track, ending his hopes of a strong finish. Strand will have a shot at redemption this Friday night as the Modifieds are back in action at the Bullring. He will be pulling double duty as the Late Models make their season debut tomorrow night as well. On Saturday, Strand will head to Greenbush Race Park as the NLRA schedule continues. Strand enters Saturday’s event sitting second in the points, just 10 markers behind leader Brody Troftgruben. Thanks to all of our great sponsors who help get us here! Walhalla Building Center Inc.
