By Spieker Promotions EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (August 4, 2021) – A rough month of July is now in the books for Dustin Strand and the SRT Specialties team, which included a horrific rollover at Norman County Raceway in his Modified, and two DNF’s with his Late Model at Norman County and River Cities Speedway. Strand had planned on running the entire four race stretch two weeks ago with the Advantage RV Wissota Modified Tour, but a rollover in his heat race at Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN ended his week early. Strand was sore for a few days, but was uninjured. Strand returned to action last Thursday at Norman County with the NLRA Late Models where he started his night with a third place finish in his heat race. Strand rolled off ninth in the main event, but was caught up in another pileup, ending his race. The team regrouped for another night of weekly competition in the Late Model division at River Cities, kicking off the night with a heat win. Strand was running in the top five in the first two trips around the quarter-mile Bullring, but another pileup on the backstretch on lap three ended his night early for the third consecutive race. Strand drove Ronnie Novacek’s No. B1 Millenium SRT Midwest Mod at Devils Lake Speedway on Saturday night for the Golden Hammer Classic. Strand ran a pair of heat races, finishing with a win and a runner-up, which was good enough to place him on the pole of the main event. Strand led the opening ten circuits around the third-mile Devils Lake speedplant, utilizing the top of the speedway. Following a caution on lap 11, Strand moved to the bottom in an attempt to hold off Lucas Rodin. Strand lost the lead just before the midway point of the 40 lap feature, but continued to run second after another caution with fifteen laps left. Strand was chased on the restart by three more cars he built, as Preston Carr, Eric Haugland, and Nate Reynolds challenged for the runner-up spot. Four cautions in the final 11 laps allowed Carr to take second while another pair of Millenium Chassis driven by Jory Berg and Reise Stenberg completed the top five as Strand finished third behind Carr. Dustin will be taking this weekend off. Dustin and the entire Strand Racing team would like to thank all of their sponsors for their continued support!
