EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (August 30, 2022) – Three more nights of racing is on tap for Dustin Strand this Labor Day weekend with a regular Friday night stop at River Cities Speedway and two nights at Greenbush Race Park with the NLRA Late Models on Saturday and Sunday.
That comes on the heels of a pair of Late Model shows last weekend at River Cities on Friday and Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo on Saturday.
Strand used Friday night as as a test session to try some new things setup-wise. Admittedly, the test didn’t work out as expected and Strand pulled off the track early in the feature, being credited with a 17th place finish.
Rain overnight Friday into Saturday created a fast and narrow track on Saturday at Red River Valley for the NLRA tour date. Strand advanced three positions in his heat, but during the feature, while running 7th, the engine began to run warmer than desired on the wide open track so he decided to pull off to save equipment.
He was credited with 19th.
Looking back, Strand had a solid month at his home track. Excluding last Friday’s feature, Strand’s worst finish in the month of August at River Cities was a fourth place finish. During that stretch, he also picked up a win on August 12th and a runner-up finish on August 19th.
He also has enjoyed success at Greenbush Race Park.
Strand has three career NLRA victories at Greenbush, including earlier this year on August 6th when he swept both the Late Model and Modified features.
If you can't make it to the track, Friday's races will be broadcast live on RiverCitiesSpeedway.TV.
